The New York State Department of Transportation issued alert warning motorists that a double-lane closure has been scheduled in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Route 9 southbound lanes at Route 113 (Spackenkill Road), on Thursday, Jan. 30, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., while crews perform maintenance activities.
During the project, motorists can expect delays in the area.
The NYSDOT said that “motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.”
